Photographed by Rick Bowden, Jetty Moon was created on the shores of Windermere near Ambleside in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Arriving before sunrise allowed Rick to capture the brief transition between night and day, when the moon remained visible above the Coniston Fells and the lake was almost perfectly still.

The image relies on careful timing as much as location. Winter mornings often produce calmer conditions on Windermere, allowing longer exposures that smooth the water while preserving the crisp detail of the wooden jetty.
