Photographed by Janet Burdon, Herdy focuses on one of the Lake District’s most recognisable breeds. Herdwick sheep are known for their distinctive markings and coarse wool, which come through strongly here. The monochrome treatment suits the subject, allowing the texture and structure of the fleece to carry the image without distraction.
