We’re slightly late with our Photo of the Month for August – we just couldn’t tear ourselves away from the Olympics – what a great show we put on! So now we’ve caught up on a few things, we’re happy to say this month we are featuring the splendid print by Peter Paterson called Loch Ard.
We have many art prints showing great scenes of lakes such as the popular ones from the Lake District but this one stands out from the crowd. It has a very frosty feel to it having been taken one clear crisp early morning up at Loch Ard in Central Scotland. Just a hint of colour can be seen in the sunrise but apart from that, it’s a cold wintery photograph which has its own qualities.
We love the frosty trees on the far side of the lake and the reflections in the still waters. The composition is perfect and exposure spot on. It’s one of the few images we have for sale which was originally shot on film. Those of you too young to remember, you can read all about camera film here! Peter has been taking photographs for over 40 years but now works primarily with digital cameras. Along the way, he has been awarded and published many times including having the Fellowship distinction from the Royal Photographic Society and the EFIAP award. Not forgetting the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain Distinction MPAGB. His work has been published in Digital Photo Magazine, Advanced Photographer, Digital SLR Monthly and many other photography publications.
Loch Ard is a beautiful image and we’re proud to have it available for you printed on acrylic, poster or canvas wrap. Of course, we have other work of Peter’s in our collection and here are just a few more…
