A finished work of art

Fotoviva’s fine art photography prints begin with original photographs by independent photographers. Each image is selected for its composition, technical quality and ability to reproduce well at large print sizes.

Our collection includes stunning landscapes, seascapes, wildlife, floral photography, black and white work and more abstract studies of shape, light and detail.

Every print is made to order in the UK and can be produced as a framed fine art print, canvas print or 10mm floating acrylic print.

What is a fine art photography print?

Fine art photography is created as a finished photographic work rather than simply as a record of a subject.

The photographer makes deliberate decisions about composition, timing, light, exposure and processing. Those decisions remain visible in the finished print, from fine detail and tonal gradation to areas of shadow, colour and texture.

The printing process matters too. Our paper-based fine art photography prints are produced using giclée printing, a high-resolution inkjet process designed to reproduce photographs with fine detail, smooth tonal transitions and accurate colour. Pigment-based inks and fine art papers provide a much higher standard of reproduction than a conventional poster or mass-produced print.

The result is a fine art photographic print with both a clear creative origin and a print process capable of preserving the detail and character of the original image.

Choosing the right size for your wall

An art print should feel in proportion to both the wall and the surrounding furniture, while allowing enough distance for the image to be viewed comfortably.

Larger fine art photography prints give the viewer more opportunity to see small details within the image, but they also require sufficient viewing distance and wall space.

Before choosing a size, consider the width of the wall, nearby furniture and how far away the photograph will normally be viewed. A print above a sofa or sideboard will usually need more width than a standalone picture on a smaller wall.

Original photography, printed to order

Every Fotoviva image originates with a photographer.

Our photographers retain the copyright to their work and receive a commission when their photographs are sold. The prints are not AI-generated and are not taken from anonymous stock-image libraries.

Each order is produced individually rather than being held as mass-produced finished stock. This allows you to choose the photograph, size and print format that suit your space.

framed art print format

Framed fine art prints

Our framed prints are produced on fine art paper and professionally framed. This format preserves fine tonal detail and gives the photograph a traditional print presentation.

Framed photographic prints are ideal for images where subtle detail is important.

canvas wall art print format

Fine art canvas prints

Canvas removes the glazing and frame surround from the image, creating a simpler presentation with a lightly textured surface.

It works particularly well for larger photographs and for images with broad areas of colour, landscape detail or strong composition.

acrylic wall art print format

Acrylic photography prints

Our acrylic prints use a substantial 10 mm clear acrylic panel to give the photograph a clean, contemporary presentation.

The smooth surface and optical depth suit photographs with strong colour, contrast and fine detail.
