Seascape Photography

Seascape Photography is currently popular among professional photographers as the results, when shot correctly, can be absolutely stunning. Deep colours and long exposures blend the sea into the horizon and dark rocks and colourful pebbles enhance the mood.

The best seascape photographers understand natural light and composition is a must for good seascape images and use this to find a way to make the viewer feel like they are actually there on the shoreline. For the sunrise seascape photos they will arrive at the shoreline early and wait for the scene to unfold. They will wait patiently for the moment when the colours are perfectly formed and then take a long exposure shot to ensure the sea is smooth and the darkness is illuminated just right to allow natures colours to reveal themselves in all their glory.

Although seascapes can also be taken in the day, the other popular time to shoot is at sunset. The colours in the sky are similar to the early morning and can provide artisitc opportunities that daylight photography cannot offer. Some seascape photography can even be taken after the sun has set. A tripod and long exposure will bring out colours in the sky that could not be seen with the naked eye and can provide a beautiful atmosphere to the image.
